Labor Day — Honoring America’s Workforce
is more than the unofficial end of summer. it is a celebration of the workers whose dedication, skill, and determination keep our nation moving forward. For AFGE Local 1411, it is also an opportunity to recognize the power of organized labor and the generations of workers who fought for fair wages, safe working conditions, benefits, and a voice on the job. This September, we proudly honor our members and all working people who continue to serve their communities every day.

National Recovery Month
recognizes the strength of individuals working toward recovery from substance use and mental health challenges while celebrating the families, professionals, and communities who support them. Recovery can take many forms, and understanding, encouragement, and access to resources can make a meaningful difference. AFGE Local 1411 supports creating a workplace where members are treated with dignity and where seeking assistance is viewed as a positive step toward health and stability.

Suicide Prevention Month
reminds us of the importance of mental health, compassion, and looking out for one another. Workplace and personal challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, and no one should feel that they have to face difficult moments alone. By recognizing warning signs, encouraging open conversations, and connecting coworkers with available support and resources, we can help build a workplace culture where asking for help is respected and supported.

Hispanic Heritage Month — September 15–October 15
celebrates the rich histories, cultures, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Across the federal workforce and labor movement, Hispanic and Latino employees have strengthened public service through their leadership, dedication, and commitment to their communities. AFGE Local 1411 proudly recognizes these contributions and celebrates the diversity that makes our workforce and our union stronger.
